GVM are one of the largest livestock marts in the country.  With seven marts located across the country they have a wide and varied customer base.  They also have a property sales division.

The Project

The mart system was an old legacy system based on a Unix server utilizing dumb terminals and slave printers.  The software house had developed a new program which GVM were required to upgrade to in order to meet Department of Agriculture regulations.

This project needed to be completed within a strict timeline so as to ensure that all sales could progress and the changeover would be relatively smooth.  There were a number of steps involved for all sites.

The head office at Kilmallock was deployed first and all other sites were set up to connect back to head office with all relevant information.
