Mid Western Lifts Services are a dynamic company based in Limerick with offices in Dublin and Belfast. It was established by Patrick and Margaret Horgan in 1983, to specialise in the installation, repair, refurbishment and maintenance of lifts and escalators. Since it’s inception they have grown to become the largest independent lift company in Ireland.
Support and Maintenance
Garry IT provides maintenance on the entire network infrastructure including the main office network in Limerick and Dublin, all servers and PC’s, printers, network switches, firewalls, Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003, McAfee Anti virus, Barracuda Spam firewall. All these devices and applications are updated on a regular basis as part of the maintenance and support. Garry IT also liaise with specific software support as necessary for Mid Western Lifts.
Garry IT carry out scheduled visits and health checks on all systems for Mid Western Lifts, working with company personnel to resolve issues as they arise and planning with the company for any upgrades required.
Mid Western Lifts recently consolidated their application servers to their headquarters in Limerick. As the branch offices required access to these applications, a Citrix farm was installed in Limerick. Using Citrix Metaframe XP on two HP Proliant DL380 G5 servers, all users in the branch offices can access the applications through Citrix clients of their PC. This allows for ease of administration of each application only requiring updates to one server in Limerick. This project was carried out to a specified time frame in conjunction with Garry IT engineers
