The Daughters of Charity Service helps people with intellectual disability. The service is based in St Vincent’s Centre in Lisnagry with approximately 90 users. They have more users based in locations around Limerick city.
The Daughters of Charity had a Windows 2000 server using Exchange 2000 and ISA server. As the amount of users grew, the infrastructure needed to grow with it. Garry IT engineers recommended installing a Windows 2008 server with Exchange 2007. This project was planned with the service personnel to minimize downtime and bring the benefits of the latest version of Windows and Exchange. With a project plan in place, Garry IT engineers installed the new server on site, and moved mailboxes from the old Exchange 2000 server to the new Exchange 2007 server. This was achieved with no downtime for users and with within the timeframe planned out.
“It’s important that clients are happy with project plans and that is why all installations and upgrades are planned with each customer” says Dan Garry – Director Garry IT Solutions. “We invest heavily in training so that we can keep abreast of the latest technology developments and in turn, our clients are up to date too.”
